FAQ
  • How does the acne program work?
The program uses the combination on bi-weekly acne treatments and Face Reality home care products, taking skin healing supplements and my professional guidance to help you achieve acne-clear skin. The clearing journey usually takes 3-6 months, depending on your acne type and commitment to following my recommendations. During the process, I will be working with you closely to track your progress and make any adjustments as needed. Every time you come in for a treatment I will perform any extractions and rehydrate your skin to protect it from getting too dry or irritated. These treatments will also include products to help prevent new acne lesions from forming. In about 3-6 months your breakouts will be under control and your scarring will start to heal. You will now have the knowledge and tools to maintain your healthy glowing skin by continuing to use your home care, watching what you eat, and coming in for maintenance treatments every 4-6 weeks.
  • If my skin is sensitive can I still join the program?
Absolutely! I understand that skin is not one size fits all. There are different layers of treatment and products. That's the beauty of the program; treatments are completely customized for YOU. Just keep in mind that it might take a little longer to get clear. We will not give up until we find the right treatment and products for you.
  • Where are you located?
I have a home-based acne studio in Kankakee, IL - I will provide you with the address in your welcome email.
  • Can I join the acne program if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
You can! Please just inform me before we being the program. You will just need a note or list from your doctor with a list of ingredients that they would like you to avoid.
  • My acne isn't too bad and I don't want to join the program, can you still help me?
I would love to help you but the only way that I can truly help your acne and breakouts is working together under the full program. If you're not committed to bi-weekly treatments and my recommendations than I may not be the best fit for your clear skin journey.
  • How long will it take me to get clear?
If you do your home care twice a day and come in every two weeks for a treatment, you will most likely be clear in about three to six months. Some people might take a little longer depending on the nature of their acne and how closely they follow the recommended home care guidelines that they are given.
  • What can I expect after my treatment?
After a treatment, you might experience some redness from the extractions. If a peel is preformed, you might have some dryness and peeling, which is completely normal. New breakouts are even possible after your treatment.
  • What is going to happen at my first appointment?
The first time you come into the clinic, we spend a lot of time together. We will discuss what acne is, your individual concerns and lifestyle factors that might be making your acne worse. Then we start the treatment and examine and test your skin to help me to learn what type of skin you have and what type of acne you have. We finish up your first appointment with product recommendations and how they work.
  • Can I continue to use my prescriptions while I'm in the acne program?
I do require you to stop your prescription products two-four weeks before starting the acne program. I have found that they make your skin much more sensitive to use while on my product recommendations. Therefore you would have to choose between the program or the prescription products you are using.
  • Will I breakout after a treatment?
Getting a breakout after a treatment is very common. Extractions can cause your skin to purge because we're removing debris that is just hanging out below your skin's surface. It's totally normal to have a new breakout pop up, when this happens I recommending icing to reduce any inflammation or redness.
  • What other skin conditions do you treat?
As an acne specialist I only treat acne and acne rosacea.
  • What is the cost of the program?
The acne program is an investment. Your initial investment in your home care products is between $175-$200, most products will last 2-3 months. The investment of your first appointment is $150 including a consultation and treatment. Your bi-weekly treatments start at $100.
  • I have tried everything on my acne, nothing works, can you still help me get clear?
Yes! This program was designed for you. Just like you, I have tired everything until I found esthetics. I grantee if you follow the program religiously and give it your all, you will be amazed by your results.
  • What is acne?
For most people, acne is an inherited condition of the pores. When someone is prone to acne, their pores clog with dead skin cells much faster than normal. Healthy pores shed about one layer of dead skin cells per day inside the pore, but acne-prone pores shed up to five layers of dead skin cells per day. The body just can’t keep up with keeping the pore clear.
  • Do I have to come in for treatments every two weeks?
Yes, bi-weekly treatments are apart of the program's protocol. Bi-weekly treatments are required because it's the quickest way to get your skin clear, and it also helps me monitor your home care to get you clear the safest and fastest way possible.
  • Do I have to use your products?
Yes, yes, and yes! My product recommendations are a large part of the program. There are too many products on the market that have pore-clogging ingredients in them. To ensure clear skin, I require only using my products alone. Acne is tricky enough to treat – I do not want to take any chances with other potentially harmful or comedogenic products.
